03.19.04 - Do I ever cross your mind, anytime? Do you ever wake up reaching out for me...

*tumbleweeds roll through Em's blog...*

Maybe I should really consider updating a little bit more?

I watched The Italian Job this weekend, through the many months of prompting from several people. The DVD I rented screwed up royally, especially in the special features (it froze my DVD playing program), but that was one entertaining movie. Now I really want a Mini Cooper. Would anyone like to purchase one for me? I will pay you back...well, never.

Last Friday, I found out that I'm just not meant to mingle with higher society. A few of my friends and I went downtown to Epic, which is a restaurant located in the Royal York Hotel. A bunch of good restaurants downtown are having this Winterlicious thing, where there's a packaged meal for about $30 - unfortunately, at Epic, the special was rainbow trout, which I'm allergic to.

Anyway, so we walk in, get our coats checked, we get seated, and the waiter puts down the wine list, and says, well, he said that it was their wine list. We take a look at it, and naturally, nothing is below $10 a glass. (Maybe the occasional $9 one). We don't even want wine, since 2 of us were driving, 1 of us didn't like alcohol, and I'm underage. When the waiter comes back to ask us what we want to drink, we're all "Um, just a water please?"...but we look around, and every. single. table. is having wine. That was really a great ego-booster.

All of the waiters talked so quietly - everytime one of them asked us something, we would all take a few moments to look at eachother before any of us even considered answering. Awkward! (and that's an understatement!)

One of the waiters was this creepy French dude - he kept staring down Linda's shirt, and on top of that, when he was putting down her dessert fork, he made the noise that perverts make when the wind blows up a woman's skirt and she's not wearing underwear. It was pretty disgusting. He also asked us if we were staying at the hotel. Me, in my deaf ways, said, "Yes," but then quickly said, "Wait, what? No. No, no." Awkward!

So that was my adventure for the weekend. Maybe I'll decide to fine dine again when I actually feel like I know what I'm doing...
